This time last year, I was sitting at my laptop at home writing my introduction for my first blog post and foray into the world of the Blogosphere.
I know that my first post didnt go up until the 30th December, but I want my blogoversay to be from when I was actually writing the post, hence it is going to be today!
I was nervous about starting, I knew I wanted to, but what happened if I said something wrong, broke patient confidentiality or upset my employers. Would it really be worth it?
Mrs 999 and I had many conversations about if the risk associated with blogging was worth my livlihood and financial security, but in the end we both knew that I would never blog about anything that would get me into trouble and the experience that I had as being the trusts Information Governance officer for a year, would ensure that I would never divulge anything that could be patient identifiable without their direct and informed permission first.
So, was it worth it?
Its been 1 year.
1 Transatlantic once in a life time trip,
More new friends than I would have thought possible and being part of a truly international EMS Family!
So yeah, I guess it has been worth it! 🙂
Thank you for sharing my journey, thank you for taking the time to read my posts and for interacting with me with your comments both on here, Twitter and Facebook.
I feel very privaledged to be part of such a group of professionals and I look forward to what the next year is going to bring.
Hopefully there will be much more from the Chronicles of EMS, but also much more from my normal life as a Paramedic in the North East of England!
Whatever happens, Its going to be fun!!
