You couldnt make it up

If you were the senior carer in a nursing home and you called for an ambulance for a poorly resident, and that resident needed to go to hospital with the crew, and the policy of the home is to send an escort……..would you send a member of staff who has a hospital phobia??

I swear down that it took more effort to get the carer out of our ambulance and into the hospital to stay with the patient than it did to look after all of our ’emergency patients’ for the entire shift.]

The poor carer then needed a member of the ward staff to sit with her to keep her calm until she could return to her place of work.

What was the last thing that she said to us when we were leaving the ward?

“Do you think I should let my manager know about my fear??”

  1. Made me laugh out loud. Love it.

  2. Believe me Fi, it made us giggle too. Bless!

  3. You didn’t take a chance to play up the fear? I always tell people I’m afraid of hospitals too, then something about our last patient dying there.
